Not literally — but ask anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you: I’m a scatter brain. I’ll leave cabinet doors open like I’m coming right back, and get way too excited about things that probably don’t warrant the energy I bring to them. I always have a project or three. I’m self-diagnosed with ADHD…. mainly because I’m too busy chasing the next rabbit down the hole to a doctor for an official diagnosis.

Regardless, my friends and family know me. My squirrel-like nature is a part of my charm. High energy, resourceful, feisty and quick-witted. A bit extra and always persistent especially when I get distracted by something shiny. I am always chasing a nut but somehow still manage to bury enough to survive the winter.

That’s where Shiny Object Strategy comes from. Not from a textbook. Not from a “10 Steps to Productivity” podcast hosted by someone who’s never lost twenty minutes reorganizing their sock drawer because that suddenly felt like the most important thing in the world. It comes from years of managing projects — everything from bootstrapping a small business as a solution for single motherhood with little to no budget, to leading multi-million-dollar government programs alongside a team of people way smarter than me. My brain refuses to do anything the “normal way.” Quite honestly, I prefer it that way. 

It started in 2007, when I needed a way to work from home for family reasons. “Just build a website” they said… but I didn’t do what most people would do (hire someone). I decided to DIY.  Spent 7 months teaching myself to code and figure out how websites really worked. That solo hustle eventually grew into hiring a team of web developers to build a company… once I figured out I make a way better PM than programmer. None of this started with a business plan. No degree, no bootcamp, no mentor handing me a roadmap for any of it — just an idea I couldn’t let go of, self-study, a lot of late nights, and learning things the hard way.

So when I teach you how to organize your chaos or finally ship the thing you’ve been “almost done with” for eight months — it’s not theory. It’s what actually worked when I had a full-time job, a side business, an attention span with a mind of its own, and zero patience for productivity systems built for people who don’t lose their train of thought mid-sentence.

I built the MESSY Method as the lovechild of Agile and ADHD — all the sprint-based, ship-it-in-small-pieces wisdom I learned managing real programs, distilled down into bursts short enough for a brain that gets bored after twenty minutes. Same roots, way less ceremony.
